Simone is a first year student in the SDSU MA in Psychology Program. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. As an undergrad, Simone worked as an RA with the Children Hospital of Philadelphia, to assist in a project that examined and tested the effectiveness of a group CBT program (FRIENDS for Life) compared to an adapted version of this program (CATS) for children with anxiety. After graduating, she transitioned to the Neuropsychology Lab at Temple University, where the lab’s research focused on establishing interventions and rehabilitation techniques to improve the cognitive functioning of people with brain damage and/or disease. At the end of 2023, Simone accepted an internship opportunity in London, England with Healthwatch Hammersmith and Fulham. Once there, she participated in a variety of projects looking into key concerns and issues related to health and social services. One of her primary tasks was to conduct visits with mental health patients and residents within the community in order to illuminate common problems that exist in healthcare services and evaluate quality of care. Immediately before the start of her career at SDSU, she also worked as a Behavioral Technician with children aged 3-7 years, where she implemented specific intervention techniques in order to strengthen socialization, self-help and behavior management skills.
