Elissa\u2019s NIH LRP projects will prepare her for a future career<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in academic research by helping her to build school and community partnerships, gain training<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in implementation science, and develop culturally tailored school-based and digital interventions<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for Black and Latinx youth, their families, and school professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Dr. Monteiro expressed her gratitude for all mentors, team members, and study participants<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">involved in the projects whom she has already learned so much from. \u201cI am honored to receive<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">this award and excited to work on the community-engaged projects involved in my training plan!<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The support provided by the LRP facilitates the continuation of my development as a researcher<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">focused on reducing mental health disparities among youth with attention and behavior<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">problems<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Elissa Monteiro has received the NIH Loan Repayment Program Award through the National Institute for Minority Health Disparities (NIMHD).
