This project examined the factors that could serve as barriers and facilitators to enrollment in college among a sample of 78 young adults who had been in foster care and were receiving support from an independent living program. Among other findings, fewer than half (42%) had received either a high school diploma or GED, while more than half (51%) had ever been arrested (26% were first arrested before age 15 years).
