\nDe\u2019 Vaun Hawkins is an undergraduate student at San Diego State University majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in Behavioral Neuroscience. His academic focus centers on understanding the biological basis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and gaining expertise in neuropsychological assessment and intervention. With a professional goal of pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, De\u2019 Vaun aspires to specialize as a Pediatric Neuropsychologist. He is passionate about bridging neuroscience and clinical practice to support children and their families in achieving better mental health outcomes.<\/p>\n
Outside of his academic pursuits, De’Vaun is an active Muay Thai practitioner, Rap artist & producer and he also enjoys designing streetwear.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\tLayla Jones<\/b><\/h4>\n
\nLayla Jones, is a third-year Psychology major with a minor in Counseling and Social Change. Layla is especially interested in psychopathology, particularly how adverse childhood experiences shape adulthood, resilience skills used by teenagers and adolescents, and the ways personalities develop over time through life experiences. After completing undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in therapy. Outside of the lab, Layla enjoys listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and watching her favorite shows\/movies.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\t\t![\"\"]( "\\"Screenshot\\"")

I am a fourth-year undergraduate psychology major with an emphasis in neuroscience, driven by a deep curiosity about the connection between the brain and behavior. My academic journey has provided me with a strong foundation in psychological theory and research, as well as a passion for exploring topics like neuroplasticity and the neural mechanisms underlying mental health. Outside of academics, I enjoy creative outlets like painting and connecting with nature through hiking, which helps me stay balanced and grounded. My ultimate goal is to become a licensed psychologist with a private practice, combining my understanding of neuroscience with clinical expertise and my passion for holistic wellness to support individuals in achieving mental well-being and personal growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

\nStephanie Ibrahim, is a volunteer research assistant and received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Bachelors of Science in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2022. She is interested in researching the influence culture can have on mental health in youth from underrepresented communities. Stephanie plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on minoritized population groups.<\/div>\n<\/div>\nOutside of the lab, Stephanie spends her time going to the beach, painting, reading, and spending time with family and friends.<\/div>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
