Support for Adaptation and Family Enrichment in Homes (SAFE Homes)

The SAFE Homes Project was funded by a research grant from the Florida Institute for Child Welfare, and tested the feasibility and promise of implementing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to reduce risk and promote family safety and stability for children in their homes. In collaboration with our community partner providers, ABCs for Success, LLC, and Banyan Health Systems, we trained therapists at their community mental health agencies to implement PCIT among families identified as needing support by the Department of Children and Families. Through this program, families l strengthened their relationships with their children, while establishing structure and implementing safe discipline strategies. The initial trial has been completed and the final report can be viewed here
